Durian. People’s Consultative Assembly of Indonesia inaugurated Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin on Oct.20 as president and vice president of the country for period 2019-2024.
“… I swear to fulfil the obligation as the president of the Republic of Indonesia as well as possible and fair, keep the Constitution…,” Joko Widodo who popular known as Jokowi said at before the Assembly’s plenary in Jakarta.
Similar oath was declared by Ma’ruf.
The plenary was led by the Speaker Bambang Soesatyo.
Some foreign leaders such as Australian PM Scott Morison, Malaysian PM Mahathir Muhammad were attending the inauguration ceremony.
This is Jokowi second term of presidency. Previously he was paired with Jusuf Kalla.
Jokowi won the April 2019 presidential election by securing 55.5 percent of total votes and defeating rival Prabowo Subianto.
