Durian. A study by the University of Indonesia revealed that Tokopedia has helped 78 percent of users become more familiar with digital investment products, the Indonesian e-commerce unicorn said in a statement on Wednesday.
The increasing awareness of digital finance in the community is also reflected in an internal data released by the company at the end of the third quarter of 2019, where financial products and services experienced significant growth.
“In Tokopedia, investment products such as Tokopedia Gold and Tokopedia Mutual Funds are increasingly in demand by the people of Indonesia. Both of these products continue to experience a significant increase in both the number of users and transactions,” Samuel Sentana from Tokopedia said.
Tokopedia Gold and Tokopedia Mutual Funds were established to encourage financial inclusion and to give people an investment option at an affordable rate.
Samuel added that Tokopedia has seen an increase in the financial literacy among Indonesians in the digital era over the years.
“Going forward, as an Indonesian technology company that continues to transform into a Super Ecosystem, Tokopedia will continue to strive to encourage financial awareness and financial inclusion in the community through collaboration with various financial institutions and regulators, as well as other strategic partners,” he added.
